How to create the discount?

To add a Buy X, pay Y type of discount, go to Marketing > Add discount > Buy X, get Y.

Discount settings

A buy X, get Y discount expects these two questions to be answered:

A. What should the customer purchase?

B. What kind of discount will the customer get?

A. What should the customer purchase?

In the Customer buys section, you can define what the customer has to buy to get the discount. Below is an example of a discount where customers must purchase at least three products from the Shirts category.

B. What kind of discount will the customer get?

In the Customer gets section, you can define the discount that the customer will receive

  • If you select Amount off products, you can define a discount that will be deducted from the normal price of the products.

  • If you choose Fixed price, you can define a fixed discounted price for the products.

Below is an example where the customer receives one of the three shirts for free.

Restrictions on the discount

Once you have defined how the discount works, you can restrict it to specific customers or countries if necessary. The date fields allow you to select the discount's validity period.

Discount status, name, and description

In the Status and Description fields, you can choose whether the discount is active and set a name and description for the discount. In the Name in admin field, you can define a name for the discount that is only visible to you.

Combining the discount with other discounts

In the Combine discount field, you can choose whether the discount will run at the same time as other discounts. By default, these fields are unchecked so that the discounts are not combined; instead, the best option for the customer is automatically used.
