Editing order contents

How to modify the details of an incoming or manually created order.

Updated over a week ago

All aspects of an order’s contents can be edited. Once you complete the changes, simply return to the order page, and all updates will automatically be saved.

You can access order editing under Sales > Open order > Edit.

Adding products to the cart

Products can be added to the cart by browsing product categories or using the product search function.

Modifying cart contents

The cart displays all items in the order. Use the Add dropdown menu to include discounts, gift cards, or campaigns. Clicking on any item in the cart allows you to modify or remove it.

Quick sale

The Quick sale option enables you to add a product to the order that is not listed in your store’s product catalog.

Discounts

Add either a flat amount or a percentage discount to specific parts of the order. Various options allow you to choose which part of the order the discount applies to.

Gift cards

Apply a gift card to the order by entering its code.

Payment and shipping methods

Add a new payment or shipping method to the order. If replacing an existing method, you must remove the old one before adding the new method.

A payment method can only be removed if its status is one of the following: rejected, refunded, canceled, unpaid, pending, reminded, in collection, or credited. You can change the status under the payment method section by using the Change status dropdown menu.

Vouchers

Select and add a discount or campaign voucher available in your marketing settings.

Editing orders paid by the customer

Editing a paid order is generally not recommended. Instead, it’s often easier to cancel the order, refund the payment, and ask the customer to place a new order. Learn more about canceling orders.

If you choose to edit a paid order, note that changes will not automatically update with the payment service provider. Any adjustments to the total amount will require you to handle additional charges or refunds manually within the payment service provider's system or another method.
