What is the Google app?

The Google app allows you to connect your online store to Google Analytics. In this guide, we explain how to use the app.

How to install the Google app

  1. Choose Apps from the menu at the top right corner.

  2. Click Install app.

  3. Find the app and click on its name.

  4. Click the Install button.

  5. Follow the instructions on the page and give the app the permissions it needs.

Entering the GA4 measurement ID

Once the application is installed, you can proceed to deploy it by entering the GA4 measurement ID in the online store's information as follows:

  1. Go to Online Store > Settings > Analytics.

  2. Enter the measurement ID in the field provided (in the Google section).

  3. Click on the Save button.

Where can I find my GA4 measurement ID?

The Google support pages will tell you where to find your GA4 measurement ID.

Testing Google app

The Google app is installed correctly if you start seeing visitors in your Google Analytics account. Analytics has real-time monitoring, where visitors can be seen immediately (if the site has visitors). Not all data may appear immediately in Google Analytics, so it may be good to wait a couple of days for the data to accumulate.

If necessary, you can also test the technical operation of Finqu's application / Google tag with the Tag Assistant tool provided by Google, which can be found at https://tagassistant.google.com/

The Google app's availability

The Google app is only available for some Finqu subscriptions. If the app is not included in your subscription and you don't want to update it, you can also integrate Google Analytics into your shop using javascript codes.

  • Google's support pages provide more information on this option.

  • In Finqu, javascript code can be added either via embeds (help) or alternatively via the theme source code (from "online store > edit > theme information > source code"). Source code editing is not available in all packages.
