Managing product returns

Learn how to manage products returned by customers.

Updated yesterday

Returns are automatically created when an order is canceled or when a customer returns purchased products to the seller. The return functionality ensures accurate reporting and inventory management.

You can find return management under Sales > Returns.

Managing returns

All created returns appear in a list. As usual, filters and search functions are available to help you navigate. Clicking on a return lets you view its full details.

Return status

Changing the status of a return from Received to Complete automatically sends a return acknowledgment email to the customer.

Be sure to issue any necessary refunds to the customer when updating the status.

Discarding a return

A return can be discarded and fully removed. This feature is useful if the return was created incorrectly. You can reject the return and start the process over.

Keep in mind that rejecting (deleting) a return impacts reports. Avoid deleting returns for months where accounting has already been finalized, as it could alter existing reports.

Reports

The return feature eliminates the need to make changes to past orders, keeping reports consistent. Generally, orders from previous months should not be modified, as any changes will affect reports.

In practice, a return creates a new credit order with negative amounts for the month in which the return was created. This ensures reports remain accurate and up to date.
