Setting up Paypal

1. Install the Paypal app

  1. Choose Apps from the menu at the top right corner.

  2. Click on the Install app button.

  3. Click on Paypal.

  4. Click on the Install app button.

  5. The app needs access to your Finqu account. Click on the Allow access button to continue installing the app.

2. Install the Paypal payment method

  1. Click the Add button next to Paypal.

  2. Enter the Client ID and Client Secret from Paypal in the fields provided.

  3. Make sure that the Sandbox mode is not enabled.

  4. If necessary, modify the other settings of the payment method.

  5. Click the Save button.

Generating API-credentials in Paypal

  1. Log in to the PayPal service if necessary.

  2. From the top menu, select Go to Dashboard > Developer Dashboard.

  3. Select the option Apps and credentials.

  4. Choose Live from the Sandbox / Live selection at the top right.

  5. Create a new application by clicking the Create App button.

  6. Enter a name for the application.

  7. From the details of the application you created, you will find the Client ID and Secret, which are the client ID and secret key that you will enter when setting up the payment method (instructions above).

Set the app to Live mode from the Live/Sandbox switch before you copy the credentials to Finqu. Only live credentials allow you to receive payments from your customer.

Testing the payment method

It's good to place at least one test purchase in your store using Paypal so that you can make sure it works correctly. If you face issues in your test purchase, please check:

  • that the Client ID and Secret key are correct,

  • and you have added all the required information on Paypal's end, such as the company name, account number, etc.)
