Facebook might ask you to verify your domain if you are using Facebook Ads.

You can verify your domain by choosing one of these three methods:

  1. Add a TXT record to your domain

  2. Upload an HTML file to the server

  3. Add a META tag to your store's source code

You can find more detailed instructions for these methods on Facebook's support pages.

If you want to verify your domain via Finqu, you can use method 2 (HTML file) or method 3 (META tag). If you're going to verify the domain with a TXT record, you can do that with the help of your domain provider (the place where you registered your domain).

Verifying the domain with an HTML file

First, download an HTML file to your device by following the instructions on Facebook's support pages. When you have the file on your device, you can upload it to your online store by following the steps below. (Important: Do not edit the HTML file or rename it on your device).

  1. In Finqu admin, go to Online store > Pages > Static pages.

  2. Choose the HTML file from your device and upload it to the store.

  3. After the file is uploaded, click Confirm button on Facebook (where you originally downloaded it).

Verifying with a META tag

You can also verify your domain with a META tag that looks like the following code snippet: <meta name="facebook-domain-verification" content="abcdefghjiklm123456" />

Delete

The code above is only an example. The content attribute is unique for each domain.

You can add the META tag to your online store by following these steps:

  1. In Finqu admin, go to Online store > Snippets.

  2. Click Add button on the Metadata section further down on the page.

  3. A Name and Content field will appear on the page.

  4. Add text facebook-domain-verification to the name field.

  5. Add the text in the content section of the code to the Content field. Copy only the text in the content. Do not add the double quotes, only the text between those.

  6. Click Save.

  7. After the META tag is added, click Confirm button on Facebook.
