It's possible to restrict shipping methods with several different factors such as customer's country or products in the cart.

How to add restrictions

  1. Go to Settings > Shipping methods.

  2. Open the shipping method that you need to restrict.

  3. Go to the Restrictions section on the page.

  4. Set the restrictions and click Save.

You can restrict shipping methods with the following information:

  • The sum of the shopping cart. Set the minimum and maximum amount into the fields. If the shopping cart's value is not between the amounts you defined, the shipping method will be unavailable.

  • Number of products in the shopping cart. Set the minimum and maximum amount of products. If the amount of products is higher or lower, the shipping method will be unavailable.

  • Weight of the products. If the products' total weight doesn't match the weight limits, the delivery method will be restricted.

  • The volume of the products. If the volume of the products doesn't match the amounts you defined, the delivery method will be restricted.

  • From the Country menu, you can choose countries where the shipping method is unavailable.

  • From the Customer group menu, you can choose customer groups where the shipping method is not available. (It also restricts the shipping method from the customers that are not logged in to the store).

  • The product or Product group menu restricts the shipping method based on the products in the shopping cart.

  • The payment method menu restricts the delivery method if the customer chooses a particular payment method on the checkout page.

  • Tags restrict the shipping methods based on the products' tags in the order.

If you use the Parcel assistant feature, delivery methods don't have a sum, product amount, weight, and volume restrictions. Parcel assistant restricts the shipping method automatically based on the measurements and weights of your parcels.
