Where can I edit the theme?

You can find the theme editor by following these steps:

  1. Click Online store > Design from the left menu.

  2. Click Edit at the top right corner.

Or, if you are installing a new theme that is not published yet, you can go to Online store > Theme library and click the Edit button for the theme you want to edit.

A quick overview of the editor's functions

The theme editor looks like this. Below the image, you'll find information for various functions of the theme editor.

Left menu's functions (from top to bottom)

  • The EXIT link takes you back to Finqu admin (where you can edit products, etc.)

  • The online store domain shows you the current address of the store, and if you click it, it opens your online store to a new browser tab.

  • From the Template menu, you can select which template you are editing.

  • From the Language menu, you can select which language version you are editing.

  • Page content shows you all the sections on the page.

    • You can reorganize them by dragging them.

    • Add new sections.

    • Change sections visibility (from the eye icon).

  • The Theme settings include all theme settings, such as colors.

  • From the Theme information, you can access the theme's documentation, source code, and translations.

The theme editor (the big area on the right)

  • It shows you the template you are editing (you can choose the template from the left menu).

  • You can see blue buttons on the page to add new sections, and inside sections, you can add new blocks.

  • The available sections vary in different themes.

The bottom bar (the black area on the bottom of the page)

  • Every time you make changes to the theme, a pink Save button appears on the bottom right corner.

    • If you are editing a published version, your site visitors can see the changes when you click Save.

    • The theme editor saves the changes automatically for you. So, you don't need to save if you do not especially want to publish the changes.

  • Next to the Save button, there are arrows to undo or redo the changes you have made (before saving).

  • In the middle of the bottom bar, you can see buttons to see the mobile view or switch to fullscreen mode.

  • On the left side of the bottom bar, there's a link for discarding changes (since the last save). Next to that, there's a Lock link, which hides the buttons on the theme editor. Hiding the buttons helps you to preview the store.

Templates consist of sections. You can add new sections by clicking the Add section button. After the section is added, you can edit its settings from the buttons on the top right corner of the section.

The sections you add to the page also appear on the left menu, where you can rearrange them by dragging, or you can adjust the visibility of each section. You can also rename sections on the left menu to help you remember what kind of content you have on them.

Many sections have blocks inside them. For example, in the Cobi theme's footer section, you can add new blocks by clicking the Add block button.
