Creating a blog for the online store

Learn how to use the blog feature in Finqu.

Writing articles

You can add new blog articles by following these steps:

  1. Go to Online store > Articles.

  2. Click Add article.

  3. Fill in the article's content and settings.

  4. Click Save.

You can add the following information to each article:

  • Article's title, summary, keywords, and content.

  • You can choose its status (published/hidden), set an image for the article, and choose the author.

  • From the Online store section, you can choose a template for the article and decide how commenting works in your blog posts.

Keep in mind that the article's appearance might vary in different themes. A theme might also have specific settings for blog articles.

Adding a blog link to the online store's navigation

You can add a blog link to the online store's navigation so that your customers can quickly locate it. You can edit a store's navigation by going to Online store > Navigation and choosing the navigation where you want to add the blog link. There's more detailed information about editing navigations in the Navigations article. 

Managing comments in blog articles

You can decide if users can comment on your articles. And if commenting is allowed, you can define whether comments are published automatically or not. 

You can access general commenting settings by clicking Account at the top of the left menu and then Settings > Blogs. Click a blog's name on the list, and then you will see these settings where you can select how commenting works:

  • Only registered customers can comment (yes/no)

  • Approve comments before they are published (yes/no)

  • Commenting is enabled (yes/no)

You can find the last two settings also in each blog article listed in section Online store > Articles. That allows you to set different commenting settings on a specific article. 

Choosing a blog for a sales channel

If you've several online stores in your Finqu account, and you don't want to use the same blog in all of them, you can create multiple blogs by following these steps:

  1. Go to the Account section at the top of the left menu.

  2. Choose Settings > Blogs from the left menu.

  3. Click New blog.

After the new blog is created, you can see it in the Settings > Blogs section on the left. There's a default switch at the right side of the page that lets you choose which blog is used by default in your stores. 

If you want to choose a specific blog for a particular sales channel, go to section Online store > Settings in the sales channel. There's a Blog option to choose which blog that channel uses.
